In case you haven't noticed, our health care system is falling apart. I watched an amazing documentary the other day on our failing system "Escape Fire", highly recommended. Anyway, at this point if you are not working out and eating healthy you better have a damn good plan B, because going to the doctor or the ER for your problems is not going to be an option.
As long term readers know, I am in the fire department, historically we have had the best health care possible. Well low and behold I had a pimple on my head that has been here like a month, so I went to the zit doc, even with health care my bill came out to $197.00!!!!!! WTF!!!!????? Next time I may just pop it. Many companies now are taking away medical benefits, and many hospitals and doctors, are charging astronomical amounts. And it is only a matter of time before your $ won't cover it. We have abused our health care system to the point where it is collapsing.
I actually love a part of the documentary that criticized the word "Health Care". It's not health care, it's sick care. We need to take the steps forward in this country to not need the stents, the triple bypasses, the diabetic and anti-depressants medicines. We need to rely on what we were born with, our body is the greatest thing we will ever own, and is the only thing we truly own. No one can take it from you, and to a certain extent... It is one of the few things in life you have absolute control over. You likely came into this world with doctors, nurses, or health care workers around you... Don't rely on leaving the world with them. Take control of your body, and as our health care system collapses, you can worry more about helping others in need, instead of needing the help yourself.
